INROADS Alumni Relations News

Message from John Howard, Chair, INROADS Alumni Association (NIAA)
October 17, 2006

Dear INROADS Alumni,

As you know the landscape of Corporate America is ever evolving. And with this constant change it is important that INROADS is front and center touting the value of diversity to corporations and communities. As INROADS alumni, we are "the true measure of INROADS success". It is important that we acknowledge our duty to make sure the INROADS continues to be the best at developing talent minority youth for business and industry, while preparing them for corporate and community leadership.

This E-Newsletter is a joint venture between the NIAA and the INROADS Office of Alumni Relations (OAR), and is an attempt to make sure you, as INROADS alumni have consistent communication that enables you to stay connected with us.

We have over 20,000 INROADS Alumni across the world and we grow at a rate of about 1,200 a year. In numbers there is power. And we now have enough INROADS Alumni to make a significant impact in giving back to INROADS in time, talent and treasure. We also have enough INROADS Alumni that we can positively affect the relationships and internships established within our corporations to assist INROADS with its placement efforts. We also now have enough alumni to do some innovative and creative events that will both benefit INROADS and meet the needs of our Alumni.

I invite you to become a member of the NIAA. We are doing some dynamic things. Our first NIAA Cruise for Scholarships sailed in June 2006 and our 2007 Conference is scheduled for Las Vegas. We are also working to grow Affinity Programs that will provide rebates/discounts for air travel, rental cars, hotel stay, insurance and others.

Again, it is our responsibility for the success of INROADS on the local level, INROADS on the national level and the growth of the NIAA. In the words of the immortal Sam Cooke "A Change is going to Come". Are you helping INROADS and the NIAA with that change?

God Bless,

John Howard, Jr.
NIAA Chairman
